In early spring 2017, Mondkrater once again hit the Proton Music catalogues with his distinctive signature sound. Following on from the "Mercury" and "Icarus" EPs, "Binary" showcased three-tracks of the highest quality. As Proton now revisits the EP, two new remixes from a French icon and Australian mainstay, showcase "Stellar Depth".

An artist with a long-standing reputation for quality and craftsmanship, Rick Pier O'Neil, has been involved in the electronic music industry since he was a teenager. A notable DJ from an early age, O'Neil has since gone on to work for Universal, Sony and Motown, producing such household names as Stevie Wonder and Donna Summer. Moving towards a deeper club sound, heavyweight support for his productions has come from Tenaglia, Digweed and Cox as his unique underground dance sound has found its way on to the catalogues of Global Underground, Toolroom and Sudbeat. A regular on Particles, two remixes with production partner, Desaturate, for Proton Music, is now joined by a debut solo effort. Working his customary magic, the Rick Pier O'Neil remix of "Stellar Depth" encases Mondkrater's work in a crisp new rhythmic shell while revisiting the bassline and melodic framework so fundamental to the original. Evolving elegantly over the near-eight-minute piece, a host of additional production elements can be found through evocative arpeggio line and cinematic pads. The result is a majestic reworking of timeless quality.

Fast-becoming a leading figure in the underground progressive house scene, Gavin Griffin has been at the vanguard of the scene over the past eighteen months under his GMJ soubriquet. A renowned DJ across his Australian homeland, Griffin's production work has catapulted him into the limelight with a captivating "deep spatial atmospheric sound". His work signed to such leading labels as Balkan Connection, Stripped and Vapour Recordings, GMJ has featured heavily on Particles with a clutch of impressive original tracks. Graduating onto Proton Music, a collaborative partnership with fellow Australian, Matter, has delivered two original EPs, while a debut solo offering in "Sovereign Reality" hit the virtual shelves in October 2017. Now reworking "Stellar Depth", GMJ has taken Mondkrater's track and turned it in a beautifully crafted new offering that retains the melodic themes resonant in the original while adding a surfeit of fresh production material and an outstanding new bassline treatment. Motifs and melodic sequences cascade across the evolving rework building to a cinematic denouement at the mid-point, before blossoming in the third movement with maturity and skill.

Two new remixes from Rick Pier O'Neil and GMJ showcase a renewed "Stellar Depth" to Mondkrater's work.
