Ghost Train is exactly the sort of record that Alan Fitzpatrick is becoming known for. Big sounding yet slick, groovy but atmospheric; Ghost Train is aptly named. Rattling along at a fair old lick, the beats are heavy and purposeful, non-more so than when they come hammering back in after one of the precision crafted breakdowns. The mayhem is completed by a palette of haunting noises and off-centre effects that ride amongst the tracks rhythms; dropping in and out along the way.
Ceremony Of The Sun treads a lighter, more melodic path showcasing Fitzpatrick’s hypnotic, twisted style. An almost shimmering, bleepy riff weaves in and out of the bouncing beats until distorted synth chords create a proper moment. From here on in its down to the jacking beats to carry on the intensity while picking up the energy. A really well executed mid-set building record.
Dubfire – “i love Ghost Train, f**king wicked!
John Digweed – “tracks sounding great, really love ghost train.
Nic Fanciulli – “there has not been one of Alan’s records that I have not played”
