Dutch writer and artist Luke Dreamhood collaborates with the young L.A. based producer's duo 'Playpat & King'. Luke met Playpat & King in the on-line Metaverse of a virtual world. For the love of music, they are on a quest to conquer the world with their vibrant Dance tracks.
This cooperation gave a boost to their enthusiasm for producing and creating music. Giving birth to variating eclectic pop songs with a catchy contemporary style. Mixed with a dash of eighties and nighties influences. The mutual goal is spreading positive vibes, a humorous view on music production and sharing stories about how their musical Dreamworld sounds like.
'A Day At Sea' starts with a mystical hook, supported by a mellow sounding pad and a humming sub bass. The wide spread open hi-hat subtly swings when a warm 707 bass kick joins in. The reverb on the arpeggiated lead give more groove and some soft shakers completes the whole. All to be broken down by emotional strings and a moving pad. A new hi-hats groove comes in, to get things started again, leading to a surprising theme.
'Dream State' tells the story of a strange dream, using almost the same ingredients as in the first track but ending in a complete different fairy tale. Luke, Playpat & King don't use heavy drops to create tension, but build up to a climax using an easy flow of sounds. Taking the listeners on a nice and stable road-trip through a universe full of wonders.
When creating 'Sweet Summer', the producers took up the challenge to create a sweet and enjoyable environment with, normally harsh and robust sounding, Hardcore and Trance instruments. The ripping leads, crazy gators and smacking synths were combined into a melody with a clear, sparkling and enchanting warm sensation.
'Wandering Fool' is a ride on an overdrive of pluck sounds, strings and some oriental influences. Especially the created wobbling bass gives this track a funny and joyful sound. The bass seems to move like a drunken bear. With a tragic comic overall feeling the track becomes a love song with a twist. Blending it all into a solid, go easy and relaxed storyline.
These first four instrumental tracks are published as an EP to preview the rhythmic songs and will get lyrics in a later time. Giving listeners the opportunity to make up their own stories they hear in the music.
