The summer is here and so is the soundtrack to it. On the track Focaccina, Mass Prod uses a series of classic Roland drum sounds, a Moondog sample and carefully layered harmonics to build this driving euphoric rhythm piece. The feeling is live, warm and jazzy. If techno is the sound of George Clinton and Kraftwerk stuck in an elevator, this is the sound of Derrick May and Moondog jamming together on the top floor.
On the b-side, Jus-Ed gives his treat to the track. The result, more techno than house, came out so good that Ed jokingly said that he had plans to keep it for his own label… We understand why. This is hypnotic mood music taken to a new level. This is music you instantly feel – your soul gets stirred. Not to be missed!
Only 25 years old, Italian talent Mass Prod has been riding high with analog gear since the age of 15. Inspired by his favorite Moondog, the Studio One series and late disco and early house records, his own take on house and techno has landed him releases on labels such as Fumalab, Bosconi, Jisco Music, Motivbank and Sunplay. You will hear more from this guy - that is more than certain.
Jus-Ed is the mind behind the label Underground Quality and also one of the leading figures on the house scene today. We are honored.
