Sweep 'n' Groove represents the brainchild of DJ Sweep and Alex B. Groove. Together, this duo can look back on more than 20 years of experience in the music business.
DJ Sweep is best known for his work as part of the famous Cafe Del Mar project "Levitation", which produced amongst other things one of the most popular "sunset tracks" familiar to many from Jose Padilla's sunset DJ sets at Ibiza's prime seaside cafe located in San Antonio. The track was featured on heavy rotation every evening, just as the sun kissed the sea.
At the age of 15, Alex B. Groove started to work as a DJ. At around the same time, he was increasingly feeling the need to produce his own music. Today he can proudly list several productions and gigs with the Floorjivers lounge act amongst his achievements, as well as solo artist work and remixes for "Die Fantastischen Vier" and others.
Having played several DJ gigs together, Sweep and Groove decided it was time to take things one step further, and hit the studio to fuse their wide-ranging tastes in house and chill out music.
Spektrum is the first full album release by the duo Sweep 'n' Groove. No pressure from labels, no hunting for instant fame and no superfluous adopting of trends has led to this coherent but multifaceted collection comprising the styles that have inspired and formed the collaboration between Alex B. Groove and DJ Sweep and which make its name, 'Spektrum', so appropriate.
It is difficult to assign this album into a specific genre, as everything from chilled out lounge tracks to jazzy melodies or pumping dance floor-filling house is packed into the collection. Let Sweep 'n' Groove entice you on a journey through a night out clubbing - starting with a chilled out warm-up track, then heading out onto the dance floor, and culminating in some relaxing after hours music.
In addition to some instrumental tracks, many tracks feature different vocal artists including soul singer and actor Fatima Drame, the two jazz singers Alison Degbe and Ulrike Haller and the singer-songwriter Aniko Kanthak, as well as dance vocals by the well-known Nicole Tyler.
The production of this album took several years, and thanks to file-sharing possibilities opened up by the Internet, it is a pan-European collaboration. Music production 4.0.
